This post is to inform people of certain IC things anyone should know about the Gulf Island and Preserve and its Lighthouse. As the room description dictates, the Gulf Island sits just beyond the primary Bay of Lussuria. The Island plays host to a large wildlife preserve, that has become a source of local myth and legend. The most famous structure on this island is the abandoned Lighthouse. A number of lesser locations such as a Ranger station, education center, hiking trails, and public parking are all found on the island. An abandoned Ranger Station is also deep into the preserve itself.
As the senior officer of the Park Rangers stationed there, Joshua Adkins has recently levied very strict guidelines on the Preserve. Up to recently, the island had been closed to the public, following an ongoing investigation of the disappearance of a group of researchers. Following orders from higher ranking officials, Joshua authorized the reopening of the preserve. However, the gates are open from 7:00AM until 5:00PM, no one is allowed in after hours.
The Island is mainly accessed by a bridge that connects it to the mainland. Iron Gates were leveled to prevent vehicles from accessing the island itself. However, just outside the gates is a parking lot which normally remains empty during the night. At the mainland side of the bridge is a huge sign, white in color. The same sign is also posted next to the iron gate. They read as follows:
(Large bold red letters) WARNING
Due to recent acts of violence commited inside the preserve, the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service has classified this facility as HIGH RISK. Enforcement has been elevated and measures have been taken to ensure the safety of the general public
Effective IMMEDIATELY, operational hours have been changed to:
(Large Characters) 7:30AM to 5:30PM
Access is limited to designated trail and picnic areas. Camping, hunting, climbing, hiking, and other activities is not authorized without prior permission from the National Park Service. Anybody violating these rules will be subject to fines, imprisonment or both. Please contact a Park Ranger for more information.
Park Rangers are in service round the clock in the Island now and gates will be closed after hours. However, walking into the Preserve itself shouldn't be too hard, since the place can't be completely fenced. There is no vehicle access to the inside of the Preserve after those hours. Anybody requesting permission for any after hours activities will be directed to speak to Sargent Joshua Adkins.
OOC Information: The Preserve is Gangrel Territory. Gangrel protect it and patrol it fiercely. You've been warned.
