There has been issues in the past and recently on blood bonds not being played correctly. Here is a reminder to all players and as a reference for staff, this is what our beloved VtM Revised Corebook has to say... Starting on Pg 218:
Definition - Regnant: One who holds thrall over another by blood bond. Definition - Thrall: Subordinate to the regnant, one who is bound by blood.
One of the most wondrous and terrible properties of Kindred vitae is its ability to enslave nearly any being who drinks of it three times. Each sip of a particular Kindred's blood gives the Kindred in question a greater emotional hold over the drinker. If a being drinks three times, on three separate nights, from the same Kindred, they fall victim to a state known as the BLOOD BOND.
As we can see here, it is fairly cut and dry. You drink, you are bound. The more you drink the closer to full bond you get. Once full bond is received there is no turning back except in some rare and extreme circumstances.
Corebook continued... Put simply, blood bond is one of the most potent emotional sensations known. A blood bound victim is absolutely devoted to their regnant and will do nearly anything for them. Even the most potent uses of Dominate cannot overcome a thrall's feelings for their regnant; only true love stands a chance against the bond, and even that is not a sure thing.
As stated above, ABSOLUTELY devoted to the regnant. This does not mean you turn it off at whim. This does not mean you play Bond of the Week. It also dictates that you as a thrall will not betray the emotional status or power of said blood bond held by the regnant. To do so would be playing the bond out incorrectly.
If you are three steps bound, fully bound to a Kindred, you are not going to go all cheeky and dreamy over someone else. The regnant is/am/are the end all and be all of your character's existence IC. Others do not matter. What is done to you by others does not matter. You will turn away from your spouse, your lover, your family to be with your regnant.
This also isn't all just sexual for hawt cyb0rz. As it states it is an EMOTIONAL state, a POTENT EMOTIONAL state. Sex is a tool not the bond. And as a small reminder, hawt cyb0rz is not allowed on site per site rules and will be acted upon by the admin and HST and staffers accordingly.
Lastly, betraying your domitor is way the f*** out of line unless you have supportive IC circumstances to support your betrayal. Because you get tired OOC of a blood bond is NOT motive to go off and betray your regnant. Being picked up and tormented by your regnant's enemies is not reason enough. Stated later on pg 220 of the corebook...
A full blood bond, once formed, is nearly inviolate. Once bound a thrall is under the sway of their regnant and their regnant ONLY.
This line alone means no ghoul has a green light to go off mamby pamby and play with others in a manner that would be threatening to their regnant. This also means one more important thing, even if you are bonded against your character's knowledge or will... your character is a thrall and is blood bound. You are held to the above rules just like a person who freely enters into a blood bond. IT doesn't matter that you drank by force. What matters is not you, not the fact you were forced to drink, nothing matters but your regnant. Period.
Now let's get to those times when you might want to override said bond due to circumstances IC. The thrall must first make a Willpower roll at Difficulty 8, modified depending on the regnant's treatment of the thrall and the thrall's Nature. The thrall must then accumulate a number of successes equal to how many times they have partaken of the regnant's blood. THEN the thrall must spend a Willpower point. That ladies and gentlemen is right on pg 220 of our beloved VtM revised Corebook.
There should be no reason now, that any of staffer should be fielding complaints of players not correctly playing out blood bonds nor players incorrectly playing the bonds out. It's a game, let's have fun please.
