Port Lussuria

  House Rules

We try and stick by canon. Canon though, has been created for small personal table top games, not the massive epic settings online gaming creates. As a result, we have made a few adjustments to try and make the canon setting bled better into the online setting.

Additional noncanon implications players will have a chance to vote on. This page will be updated as new rulings are voted into place. The following house rules, we typed up on our own, please do not rip these off rules for application elsewhere without our express permission.

 House Rules

All Systems

Abilities

Abilities banned from ALL systems: Demolitions.

Banned / Restricted Merits & Flaws

This list applies to ALL venues on this site.  In addition to this list, each venue has its own specific banned and restricted list for merits and flaws. This list may grow or shrink depending on how the players handle the game setting. There are so many merits and flaws, that we cant hope to cover them all, anything not listed here is left to the STs Judgement.

Restricted merits and flaws, may be allowed on a character on a case by case basis WITH a background story for the merit or flaw.

Any merits & flaws not being role-played or being abused will be removed. Merits & Flaws not being role-played or being abused may result in a warning and the docking of exp for the offense.

Animal Magnetism  The attractiveness of your character is something you RP out, not buy in merit format. (Banned)
Blood Flaw Immunity  Rare, and without much creative merit. (Restricted)
Charmed Existence  This has very little application in a horror setting. (Banned)
Child Minor age PCs have no place on this site. Further more we refuse to be held legally responsible for when/if a player were to ever abuse this character type. (Banned)
Corporate CEO  We do not feeling this is constructive to our setting, and that it grants an unfair advantages. (Restricted)
Dark Fate  It's the WoD, we all are pretty much equally screwed. (Banned)
Dead Man Walking  Something that should be earned IC, with PCs. Not NPCs. (Banned)
Disease Carrier / Contagious  This can cause some serious IC problems, and requires very exact record keeping. (Banned)
Double Betrayer  This Tremere flaw has no practical uses in our game. (banned)
Eidetic Memory  This has a history of causing problems and ooc hassles. (Banned)
Embraced without the Cup  A Tremere merit that is exceptionally rare. (Banned)
Enchanting Voice Worthless, unless your character is in the entertainment industry. Coupled with presence and dominate this merit gets out of hand. (Restricted)
Fountain of Life  Too unbalanced. (Banned)
Guardian Angel  If a character were to ever have something like this, it would have to be another PC, not an NPC. This is something that occurs in RP - not in spending a few points. (Banned)
Immortality  This is something useful for a long term Table Top game - not for an online setting. (Banned)
Jack of All Trades  This is an exceptionally unfair merit. (Banned)
Kinfolk  This is a reference to vampire ghouls who are also garou/shifter kinfolk. (BANNED)
Lucky  The ST should choose when you reroll, not a merit. (Banned)
No Internet Access  We thought this was a joke, no its a real flaw. Just go to the fucking library and get online there for free. (Banned)
Nine Lives We feel that this creates a highly unfair advantage. (Banned)
Oracular Ability  This can cause many problems, and feelings of resentment from other players. It requires special ST attention as well. (Restricted)
Over Confident  This is a 2nd edition flaw, this doesn't provide any real draw backs. (Banned)
Sexy  This merit from the Demon book is outright ridiculous. (Banned)
Spirit Mentor This is something that should be PC to PC interaction between a wraith PC and another systems character. Earn this IC thru RP. (Banned)
Super Natural Companion  This is something that should occur thru RP, not a sheet purchase on a starting PC. (Banned)
True Faith  True Faith is exceedingly rare. This is VERY abused, on almost any chat that has allowed it in the past. We are sorry to those who can handle this aspect of the game with a sense of fairness and responsibility. (Restricted)
Uncontrollable  For the sake of the players sanity, and the staffs this is banned. We do not see this flaw as working well in our setting in any form.
Unbondable  Players have a history of abusing this merit. We are sorry to those who would handle this in a mature fashion, but we do not want to deal with the abuse. (Restricted)
Virulen Strike  Outright banned, no questions. (Banned)
  • Buying additional merits after character approval is at the cost of the merit times 3. RP is REQUIRED, with logs as proof. The ultimate choice to grant the request, is upon the ST.

  • The cost of Buying off a flaw is the cost of the flaw times 3. RP is REQUIRED, with logs as proof. The ultimate choice to grant the request, is upon the ST.
